After 4 weeks of observation, and with no further microwave radio restarts, it appears the situation has indeed stabilized. That does not mean that there are no further dropouts – there are occasional dropouts, and there have always been dropouts as nearly as I can tell, although they were not logged in the past.

The current frequency of the dropouts over the past 4 weeks is indicated on the plot below – there have been 8 dropouts that were not due to scheduled events:

Heading into Winter, there are a number of things that could confound the transmission: water absorbs microwaves, so rain, snow, and fog can all have an effect. This is on top of the effect that wind could have on the microwave dishes, as it did last Winter……
